If you would like to register for this service please complete the SDA Canada membership application form and tick the box at the bottom of the page for the U.S. website and list serv access. Payment can then be made online. SDA Canada has arranged to collect this information on your behalf.

About SDA Canada
SDA Canada promotes education and best practices in management and professional standards of design firm personnel. Our members include principals, controllers, marketing managers, HR supervisors, administrators, project managers, and consultants to design firms.
Our roles are crucial to the success of design firms, and we're committed to the development of strong management practice in the design industry. SDA was formed to draw on the knowledge of experience of our peers. Membership in one of the many chapters throughout North America identifies an individual as a committed and skilled design administrator.

Based in Toronto, SDA Canada currently has over 90 members from across Canada representing prominent architecture, engineering, interior design, landscape architecture, developers, service providers and specialty consulting firms.

SDA enhances the professional development and personal growth of its members, and consequently the development and growth of their respective companies. Our monthly meetings feature guest speakers who present information of interest to the profession and the design industries. We also have round-table discussions in which we share solutions and strategies for dealing with common situations.

Members can access exclusive sections of our website containing a Member Q&A Forum, membership directories, career opportunity notices, archived seminar and presentation materials, and more.

History of SDA Canada
In the early 1990s, several design firm administrators started meeting informally to provide a local network focusing on the needs of Canadian design firms, and soon began attending the SDA conferences and conventions in the US.

In 1996, we became the first international affiliate of the Society of Design Administration and share a common mission:

To promote the exchange of ideas and to educate its members in the related disciplines of design firm administration.

Through affliation agrement, an SDA Canada membership also provides membership in SDA USA, providing full access to all their programs, services and events.

In August 2005, following the annual North American National Convention, our name was slightly modified. We are now the "Society for Design Administration Canada."
